Shadow Cloak is a dark magic bred alicorn, she was born an earth pony, then was kidnapped by Umbra and transformed into an alicorn through dark magic. Dark magic flows through her spirit, veins, blood and soul. She has a good heart, though it is forever filled with the need for growing power. Therefore she would be considered an evil character.
After Umbra's decease, she finds shelter within King Sombra's ranks, and then becomes his adopted daughter.
She earns her cutie mark at the age of 8. Sombra is annoyed with her skills at certain things, and therefor forbids her from eating for 3 days.
She couldn't do it, so she sneaks out at midnight, on a full moon. Goes into the market place, and steals 3 apples, then when she makes her way back to the castle, she runs into a guard. The guard draws his weapon and she gets freaked out, so she runs past him, through an ally way, but he catches up and grabs ahold of her tail, forcing her to let out a cry, which in return makes her dire angry. She whirls around and, using her dark magic horn, blasts the guard on the chest, slicing his heart in two. His body then starts to quickly dissolve into ash and shadow. She forgets about her hunger, and ends up alerting all of the other guards of her location when she screeches out a blood curtailing scream. But it was no accident, but rather, to draw them in for her trap.
When the guards arrive, she lunges at one, ripping his throat out with her fangs. Two get their bows out and draw an arrow from the quiver. Aiming it right at her, they release their grip on the arrow sending them flying towards her, she disappears with a cloud of black, ashy, dust. And reappears behind one of the unicorn archers, using an arrow from within his own quiver, she guts him. The rest flee, but she wont let them, she is now in her blood rage state, a gift from Umbra when doing his final experiment on her. An overreaction from her, can lead to her hoofs dripping with other ponies blood. Her mouth will be filled with their souls, and their spirits will drown in her shadow. Forever locking them in her darkness....
Once the fight was over, she was covered in blood that was not her own. All around her were blooded bodies. Some decapitated, others with only ash left over. She had come out of the blood rage state. With one last look at the destroyed lives around her, she vanished in shadows.
Thus her cutie mark appeared. Two crescent moons, one larger than the other, one black and one white.
A symbol of shadows, the darkness, evil.
Now she is the Queen of Carnage.
