- Fern was once a normal unicorn pony scientist in canterlot.She had worked with plants all her life.One day tragedy struck!Fern was working with chemicals to help the plants grow faster.She fell into one of the tanks holding the chemicals when attempting to refill them.Fern grew wings made of vines,her hair became green,her body turned darker,her cutie Mark changed,her magic grew stronger.She ran out of the building,past ponyville,and into the forbiden forest.She did NOT want ANYONE to see her like this!She lived and hid in the forbiden forest for years before finding zicora the zebra.She asked zicora for a remedy but sadly zicora said there was no remedy for her condition.Zicora then got up from her seat and started making a potion at her cauldron.Zicora said that the potion she made was one that Fern could become normal for an hour.Fern was ecstatic about what she had just heard that she didn't realise she took the bottle from zippers and ran to the edge of the forest!She drank some of the potion and for the first time in so long,walked out of the forest.She walked into Ponyville and went everywhere she heard about fast!She had ran into princess twighlight and said she was sorry.Twighlight happily said it's ok!I've never seen you here before!what's your name?Fern told the princess.twighlight and fern started talking and went to get something to eat because it was lunch.By the time they got done talking and eating Ferns potion was about to wear off!Fern knew this and said she had to go and that it was nice meeting twighlight but twighlight said wait where are you going?!It's getting dark!Lauren did not hear this and was running straight for the door but before she could get out...POOF!The potion wore off!!Everyone saw Fern in her form and they started murdering about her!Fern started crying but after a few seconds twighlight came and said hey it's ok!you look cool!why did you try to hide this and how did you get this way?Fern replied with I fell into chemicals!I...I...I wanted my old life back!I'm soooooo sorry!Twighlight said hey maybe your nickname should be Chemical Fern!You don't need to hide yourself just be yourself and you will be alright!until you can get back on your hooves you can stay with me!Fern happily said yes and was glad she was finally excepted!She lived in Ponyville for a few years before returning to her work as a scientist helping make new plants with her magic and she also became a very interesting test subject for the other scientists!Chemical Fern lived happily ever after,after that!She was just glad to be back!
