- Brought to Zone 19 in 1993. The origin is still unknown. It is made of concrete and reinforcement with traces of aerosol paint of Krylon brand. SCP-173 is animated and extremely hostile. The object can not move while it is within the line of sight. When working with SCP-173, eye contact should never be disturbed. Personnel assigned to enter the container are instructed to warn each other before blinking. The object is reported to attack, breaking the neck at the base of the skull, or by strangulation. In the event of an attack, personnel should apply actions to contain dangerous objects of Class 4.
Staff reports on the scraping coming from the container when no one is inside. This is considered normal, and any changes in this behavior should be immediately reported to the current curator of HMCL.
The reddish brown substance on the floor is a mixture of feces and blood. The origin of these substances is unknown. The shells must be cleaned every two weeks.
