- About:
- War Badge, also identified as Papa Badge, is a seasoned Unicorn, whom was once part of Princess Celestia's horned forces: brave, strong stallions who braved harsh conditions, fighting either oncoming enemies or fighting those he and many others were sent to fight.
When he was a foal, War Badge lived in dark, war-torn times. He was born in a bunker; his mother, Fair Maiden and his father, Timber Club, were forced to seek shelter when magical bombs were dropped over their town. This gave him his namesake.
Growing up in these times warped his sight to the greater good-- protecting those who can't protect themselves. War Badge went through years of the harshest training to finally become recruited in Celestia's army. At this time, he was the oldest colt to still not have a cutie mark.
However, when the recruit's base was under attack by renegade Pegasi sent in from Saddle-Rabia, War Badge fought them off-- detaining one for questioning. The following morning, War Badge received a metal of bravery; at that moment, he finally found purpose. War Badge got his cutie mark.
After years of brazen war, over a decade of agony and turmoil, War Badge was met with an untimely honorable discharge. In the midst of a war, he accidentally stepped on a magical land mine, which turned his hing legs into snakes that attacked him before slithering off into the jungle. When he was found, he was brought to the infirmary. Not even the Princess herself could give him back his legs.
Today, War Badge is certainly no bitter, cold stallion... But a gentle, worn grand-father figure. He goes to schools and tells of his experiences with wars and how his many sacrifices saved so many more. He may seem sad and lonely, but whenever he sees any other pony, a generous, kindly smile stretches across his scarred, wrinkled face.
Many young foals see him as their grand-parental figure and seek to him for advice or an on-edge war story to tell. Neither his involvement in traumatic war nor his two missing legs would stop him from seeing the innocent eyes gleaming with interest, nor the smiles and sweet laughs of the foals who see him as his grandfather. He enjoys the life he has, while he has it because he never knows when it will end...
