About:
Ahura Ormazd Mazda; named after not the God or belief, but for the meaning of this name. Ahura is a sentient being; consisting of a ribbon-form body that slowly spins in upon itself, which has a hypnotic effect. Eyes of the very hue of wisdom; a startling blue which pierces through darkness.

Ahura's origins are a bit cloudy, even to himself. However, does remember this much: the glistening nighttime skies with twinkling stars overhead; himself, floating through the cool air of midnight until he felt what was similar to bandages wrap around his body. The odd sensation made him feel weak, tired; closing his eyes as the linen wrapped around his face. Upon waking up, he found himself in a dark library; the floor was cold stone with rotten wood planks, the ceiling was unable to be seen and it was dark. No moonlight, starlight or warm radiance of the sun was seen. Unable to see through the bluish dark, Ahura panicked; thinking he would be trapped and die in this purgatory.

Laying down on the cold stone floor, he accepted his own mortality, until he realized; he did not feel any hint of hunger or thirst. No urge of any organic function; he noted that he did not even need to take in breath. Calming down, Ahura tried to think.

"Am I dead?" "How did I get here?" "Why was I floating through the sky?"

What felt like days passed by, until Ahura was jarred from his intense thoughts by something he thought he would never see again; light. A dungeoneer managed to find his way into the library and was obviously searching for the treasures of... Wherever this library was. Until, he saw Ahura; when the other pony did, he ran. Ahura did not understand why, until he looked at his hooves; ribbon-like and swirling rather beautifully, yet a horrible dark-blue color. Ahura did not have hooves, nor even touched the ground.

The dungeoneer dropped his back running out. Ahura searched the bag and found a small mirror and saw why the pony ran away. His eyes were an odd crimson red color (at the time) and his entire body were these ribbons, bandages, whatever they were; Ahura did not know why he became this way or what caused this. Only part that seemed to be solid was his head. Feeling hopeless, knowing he may be this way forever, Ahura followed where the dungeoneer ran off to until he found a whole in the wall where the pony came in through. He placed the bag outside of the wall and repaired the wall.

Drifting back to the light of the torch, Ahura felt lost. He could not even remember what he was before this; if he was an Earth pony, Pegasus or Unicorn. He didn't even have a cutie mark anymore. Looking about the library, he spotted a book in one of the bookshelves titled "Curses and Ribbon Ponies". Hesitantly, he drifted noiselessly up to the book, wondering how he would pick it up. Trying to use his "hooves", his flimsy ribbons only scrapped against the book gently. Just then, what felt like magic began to lift the book from the shelf. Ahura then realized he had the abilities of magic. With the book along side, he drifted down, placed down the book and two thoughts went through his mind; try to teleport out, or stay and read the book. As much as he wanted to leave, he wondered if other ponies would accept him, or be afraid of him and force him to leave all of Equestria.

Laying down yet still adrift, Ahura searched the glossary of the book and found the section about "Ribbon Ponies". It read--

"Ribbon Ponies were those whom were, not cursed, but blessed by a form of Alicorn magic which only activated after the pony's death. Upon death, ribbons of the night itself would wrap around the spirit and make them somewhat solid with the ability to preform magic. However, many turned evil once Princess Luna turned into the wicked Nightmare Moon; as she was the first Alicorn of the past aeon to use this now outlawed magic. Though outlawed, either Unicorns under the influence of the Alicorn Amulet or newly-crowned Alicorns would accidentally cast these spells whilst using dark magic spells.

This all made sense; he was a ribbon pony. Reading ahead, they are indeed magic spirits; do not require the essentials for life and are gifted with magic. They are, indeed, not seen as ponies so they are often exiled or they are turned back into simple spirits by Alicorns if they are ever captured. Ahura accepted this fate, yet now, he knew he could never leave the library. He understood this and continued reading.

Ahura continued reading and reading until the torch burnt out. However, in the darkness, he realized his eyes had a brilliant glow which illuminated the pages. Even in the darkness, Ahura could still read and feed his knowledge. When reading, he noticed his eyes would glow a bright green and whenever applying the knowledge from whatever he read and develop experience, his eyes would turn blue. Basic colors of the mind: intelligence (red), knowledge (green) and wisdom (blue). After what seemed to be days, months, years; after reading all that was in the library, Ahura's eyes became fixed their deep blue.

At the start of his afterlife, Ahura was naive; retained much of his mortal emotion and mental composition. However, after what have been centuries of guarding the library and preserving the knowledge; something Ahura finds the most precious, his mind has become striped away of such unnecessary values. Emotions and sensations other than the understanding and open-mindedness towards new ideas and topics in literature, would cloud the mind and close it to such simplicity that is understanding, indeed.

To this day, few have stumbled upon the library; all have turned away and forgotten about it and Ahura-- what many call a horror, though is far from such a demeaning title. Drifting through the library, the books do show such age to them; to Ahura, this is the books' own version of experience, inanimately of course. He has given himself the title of the protector of what is to this day old, forgotten knowledge. When Ahura was "reborn", it was roughly about 435 years since Nightmare Moon was exiled to the moon; what was written within books, much was proven false. Ahura has sensed the change in time, however understands what he knows is "old, outdated", but it is what gave his "gift" purpose.

Oddly enough, Ahura suffers from magical surges every few decades that extends the length of the library and generates bookshelves, stocked with books with newly proven theories and filled with brilliant studies from modern scientists around all of Equestria. This allows Ahura to continuously expand his wisdom and experience with: literature, science, politics-- anything that may be printed within the delicate covers of any book. Even though he has a full understanding and awareness to the changes in science, technology, sociaology and mythology, Ahura is unaware of the drastic physical changes of the outside world-- how accepting and understanding, emotionally, it has become.
