- This brightly colored fellow is Sugar Rush. A very hardy stallion with a massive sugar addiction. Always living on the edge and partying hard, he has a bit of a record of causing quite a ruckus, however would never hurt anypony.
Sugar Rush started out somewhat the same as Pinkie Pie, as a matter of fact, he and Pinkie are cousins. He started out on a rock farm as well; bored, but not sad. Just bored. His family was very bland and plain. He worked a bit about the farm when he was young, but he didn't want this to be his fate-- he always wanted excitement, noise and color.
When he turned 10, Sugar Rush was introduced, by accident, to something new and fantastic: candy. While in town with the money he had acquired for his birthday, a trader dropped a large sack of individually wrapped candies. Curious, Sugar Rush took a hoof full and darted away. After consuming the rather large amount of sweets he had stolen, Sugar Rush underwent a sugar rush-- he was wild, crazed, hyper. Everything seemed fun, loud, colorful-- like he had always wanted.
When he calmed down, he could only remember his mother scolding him for stealing and running a muck through town before blacking out. When he woke up, he saw on his flanks three candies in a cutie mark. After that endeavor, Sugar Rush wanted more and more candy: more sweets, more loud noises. After he turned 18, he ran off to Ponyville where he heard that his cousin Pinkie lived there. Upon finding her, she introduced him to Vinyl Scratch and took him to Sugarcube Corner. After an afternoon of sugar, loud music and excitement, Rush became a permanent resident at Ponyville, living close by to Sugarcube Corner and is a regular customer.
Sugar Rush is rather arrogant; suffering from "Mr. Hot Shot Syndrome". But, when times are tough, he'd always be there for his cousin Pinkie, whom he thinks of as a sister, since he's an only child. A sugar addict; he can take in huge quantities of it before getting sick and soon bouncing off of the walls, crazed in a hyper state. After, he feels a bit ill, sour stomach and pounding headache. Small price to pay for a sweets bend.
