- This adorable mare is Winter Shimmer. From two unicorns, she was born an earth pony. However, due to the immense level of untapped magic within her, her body filters the magic upwards-- straight into the sky-- and gifted her a cutie mark.
She was cursed-- gifted as she thinks-- as the Mare of Frost. Wherever she goes, thick snow clouds follow and smothers the land in a thick luxurious snow. Some towns appreciate her gift, especially around winter time so that the Pegasi can rest for the winter. However, towns that cannot afford to have her presence meddling with what little crop they have chase her away and place a lifetime ban on the poor mare.
Although her magic has caused her banishment from several places, she never much cared for them-- places such as Apple-loosa-- as they had no pleasant qualities for her. She never attended a public school and instead was home-schooled by her parents who tried to control the unsustainable magic within their daughter. After trying various spells and potions to rid of the snow and her cutie mark, it was as permanent as such.
She understands why she has such an affliction, however she takes it in shrive, enjoying the cold. Due to her magical body, she does not produce any heat. As a matter of fact, her very core is freezing cold. Her breath on a warm day is cold enough to create small puffs of icy mist. Ponies who touched her fur say it's like brushing a furry snowbank. Her hooves are so cold, if any pony licked her hooves (because who knows why) their tongues would stick.
Her coat even produced snow! Some of the snow on her snout, back, ears and hooves are from the constant snowy clouds that seem to always follow her around. From striking blue eyes to her warm personality, she may be a cold mare on the outside, but her heart is white-hot with compassion and understanding. Just don't say anything bad about her friends-- he will freeze you solid.
