Nightshade is Luna and Sombra's daughter. After her birth, Sombra decided to take her in after divorcing Luna. He taught her the ways of a tyrant. She caught on quickly and decided that if her dad had left or passed that she would replace him. After Sombra was banished and the empire had disappeared, she had taken matters into her own hooves. All that time of no pony noticing her, she grew so full of hate and anger that she left the crystal ponies to fend for themselves. She stayed away in hiding in a frozen wasteland and waited many days and nights for her father to return. What seemed like seconds was, in reality, one thousand years. When Sombra had returned, he explained to her that he didn't make the empire disappear, he simply sent it forward in time. She was left alone in the dark for merely seconds but in reality it was long enough for his return. Nightshade is now building up her strength to overthrow Cadence and avenge her fallen father.
